SIEI was established in 1934 with the goal of producing innovative electrical products in the Italian market. In 1938, production of contactors, fuse boxes, insulated cases, push-button panels, and automatic control distribution panels began under new license from Klokner-Moeller.
The company grew and, after the Second World War, SIEI moved from its Via Braida offices, to offices in Via Lomellina-Milan.
During the 1960s, SIEI began to develop its Speed Regulation products from its manufacturing headquarters in Gerenzano, and in the early '80s, the company expanded into the United States under the name Amicon. Today, SIEI is part of the Worldwide Gefran Group. We are Gefran SIEI and we consist of over 28 branches in 7 countries, giving us the ability to serve the entire globe.
As part of our strategic goal to become more easily identified within the markets we serve, and in order to show a more unified corporate structure and identity between our Winchester, MA and Charlotte, NC locations, Gefran SIEI, formerly Amicon, has now taken on the name Gefran Inc.
